Editor's review
ImageBatch is a lightweight batch converter for images. Currently supported image formats are JPEG, PNG and GIF.
Pros: ImageBatch is a photo format converter. Images supported are JPEG, PNG and GIF. It also has some rudimentary edit facilities that include rotate, flip, resize and flipping of images. If you want to add watermarks to the images, you could do that too with this application. Watermarks can be text strings or other images. The user interface is very simple. Choose a directory and specify file types and then choose the quality of JPEG you want. You can choose edit operations out of a list available in the edit area. These operations include resize, draw watermark with text and images, flip, rotate and crop. For each of the options you need to set certain relevant parameters which appear on the settings area of the interface. For example for resizing you need to specify if resizing is to be done to specified height and width or proportional resizing to be done with a fixed height and with fixed width. Drawing watermark with images lets you specify image file, opacity and the position. For text based watermark you can enter the text, choose font and font color and then the position of course. For flip specify if it is going to a horizontal or a vertical flip, rotate lets you specify the angle in increments of 90 degrees. Finally you specify the crop area in terms of pixels. The execution package works with Windows starting with Windows 95.
Cons: This is the proverbial version 1.0, so look out for possible problems though we did not notice any. Supports a limited number of formats.
Overall: Simple to use with a simple interface, it does its job quite well. Overall it is a 4 star item.
